US Sugar – South Central Florida Express
Clewiston, FL - New Main Line and Yards
The Crouch Engineering design team and its construction engineering and inspection team worked closely with US Sugar, the South Central Florida Express Railroad, local regulatory agencies, utilities, and regulators to plan, survey, design, permit, and bid the publicly funded project, and provide construction engineering and inspection services as noted for the duration of the new railroad main line project.
CEPC performed planning, estimating, survey, design, bid phase, and construction project management, engineering, and inspection services for the design and construction of a new, state-funded 10 mile-long main line track, a passing siding, a storage yard, material loading tracks, 15 grade crossings, over 20 drainage structures, etc., for the Citrus Rail Project for the South Central Florida Express.
Crouch Engineering, through a very competitive bid process, received pricing at roughly 60% of the client’s estimated budget, allowing the client to purchase and install an additional 9 track miles of 136 RE Continuous Welded Rail (CWR) for the replacement of 85 AS rail on the main line segment connecting with the new main line near Clewiston, FL.
